Amparo González

Amparo González passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, at 91 years old. She was born in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, on June 11, 1934, to parents Maria de La Luz García Espana and Francisco García.

She was raised in Linares, Nuevo Leon, and Ciudad Victoria and Matamoros Tamaulipas, before immigrating to Brownsville, Texas, and finally settled in Salinas. She married Ernesto González in 1951, sharing 50 years of marriage until his passing on March 9, 2000.

Amparo loved cooking, playing bingo and attending mass at Christ the King and Saint Mary’s Church.

She is survived by her son’s: Julian, Ernesto, Alberto, Ramiro, Amado and Francisco González; and daughter’s Irma Armijo, Irene García, Juanita Cardenas, and María Murillo. As well as 46 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto González, and mother-in-law Guadalupe González who passed in 1994.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Healey Mortuary from 1-8pm. Rosary will be at 6pm.

The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Crist the King Church at 10am. Burial to follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Reception will be at the González Family Residence.
