Elida Leonardo

God has taken back Elida Ortiz (Garcia) Leonardo, she passed away on April 23, 2017. She was born in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico, February 21, 1940. She worked many years as checker in the strawberry fields. Later in life she was a homemaker. She was very hardworking, loved to travel, take pictures, and of course she loved to go to the casinos. But most of all she loved her family, her children were number one to her. We love her and will miss her deeply. Elida is survived by her second husband of 5 years Arnold Leonardo, her sons and daughters, Roy (Ruby) Garcia, Rudy (Rosemary) Garcia, Maria Lisa Garcia. Bobby (Denise) Garcia, Josie Garcia. She had 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Step Daughters Brenda (Tabin) Hurtado and Debbie Suapaia. Sister Catalina Ortiz, brothers Ruben (Lily) Ortiz, Art (Florence) Ortiz, Pedro (Chonita) Ortiz, and Jose (Tina) Ortiz. 14 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband Eliseo Garcia, father Carlos Ortiz, mother Ygnacia Ortiz and brother Roberto Ortiz. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 1-9pm with a Rosary vigil at 7pm, all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, April 27, 2017 10am at the St. Mary of the Nativity Church 424 Towt St. Salinas, CA 93905. Cremation to follow services.
