Eugenia Pena

Sep 3, 1934 — Apr 28, 2015

Eugenia Contreras Pena entered into Heaven on April 28, 2015 after a year long battle from cancer at home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 3, 1934 to Alfonso and Matilde Contreras in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. She was a homemaker until her youngest child started to attend school. She then took a job at the Alisal Union School District and retired after 27 years, serving as a Foodservice worker. If you were a student in the Alisal District you were probably served by our beloved mother. She was always smiling and willing to help everyone in any capacity, especially when it came to cooking. Her arms were always open to anyone who came into her home. She will be missed by all who knew her. A special thank you to Andrea for her loving care of our mother in the past year. Thank you to all of the VNA nurses for their care. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Antonio P. Pena, and her 4 surviving children all of Salinas; daughters Rozelena (Greg) Vasquez, Leticia Pena, sons Antonio (Rocio) De La Pena, Alfonso (Andrea) Pena; grandchildren Gabriel, Gregory, Paul, Erik, Mercedes, Isabella, Alyssa, Ashley, Adriana, Savannah, Alfonso Jr.; great grandchildren, Quynn, Jaysin, Eryn, Angel; brothers Presciliano (Evanjelina), Perfecto (Juanita), Bernardino (Elida), Ermilo (Martha) Contreras and sisters Paula Maldonado, Ernestina (Manuel) Contreras, Guadalupe (Manuel) Tijerina, Lucila (Domingo) Flores. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Matilde Contreras; daughter Patricia Pena and sister Tiburcia (Tia Luz) Pena Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 1-9pm with a Rosary vigil at 7pm, at Healey Mortuary 405 N.
