Frances Torres

Frances Jimenez Torres, 79, native and lifelong resident of Castroville, passed away on March 26th, 2018. Born on August 21st, 1938 in Castroville to Elena de Jesus and Antonio Jimenez Frances was blessed to be a stay at home mom after her 4th child was born, which she thoroughly enjoyed. One of her favorite things to do was making special meals and treating her family with homemade tortillas and her specialty, Chili Verde. Although she loved her family, her passion was serving the Lord. She woke up every morning at 5 a.m. to read the Bible, inspirational books and pray for people on her prayer list. She, along with her husband Nico, were very involved with the Crusillo movement at San Pablo De Colores along with helping at Our Lady of Refuge Parish. Frances touched many lives with her wisdom and love for Christ. She will be dearly missed. Frances is survived by her 4 children; Sons, Nick Torres Jr (Yvette) and Carl Torres (Angelica); Daughters, Debra Torres and Rachel Torres Carrillo; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; Sister Mary Marquez and brothers Reymundo, Fernando and Johnny Jimenez She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends Frances is preceded in death by her husband Nick (Nico) Torres, parents, sister’s Francisca Arceo, Sally Jimenez, Angie Vasquez and brothers Antonio, Ramon, Frank, and Joe Jimenez Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 1-3pm at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd Salinas, CA 93905. A Rosary vigil will take place on Monday April 2, 2018 5pm at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church 11140 Preston St. Castroville, CA 95012. Visitation to extend at the church until 7pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 11am at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church. Burial to follow services at the Castroville District Cemetery 8442 Moss Landing Rd. Moss Landing, CA 95039.
