James Martin Jones

Jan 31, 1951 — Jul 4, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. James Martin Jones, who departed this life on July 4, 2026 at the age of 75.

James was born on January 31, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Northern Senior High School. He was drafted into the United States Army shortly after graduating where he was relocated to Salinas, California and stationed at Fort Ort on the Monterey Bay coast. He held several jobs over the years with his last job being home remodeling, specializing in fence installation for residential and business customers before his retirement in 2017.

Outside of work, James found great joy in spending time with family and friends. He often traveled to be with his daughters, wherever they were. He embraced life with resilience, loyalty, and a larger-than-life personality. James attended Royal Family Church of God in Christ, where he sang in the choir and served as an usher before pursuing a personal spiritual journey in the final years of his life. Those who knew him well understood his deep love for God and his tireless desire to share God’s love and forgiving grace with others. James brought passion to everything he did and will be remembered for his dedication and love for his family.

James leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories through his three daughters, Nicole Williams, Jamila Jones, Jennifer (Marcus) Montgomery and son, Adonis Jones, ten grandchildren, eight great grand children and one great-great grandchild, along with many other family members, friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by his presence.

James’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His determination and devotion to family will continue to inspire those who were privileged to share in his life.
