Maria Azucena Palacios

Maria "Nena" Azucena Palacios, 83. longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on July 20, 2013 in Watsonville. She was born on July 31, 1929 in El Salvador. Nena came to the United States in 1966 to work in New York and New Jersey as a nanny,before that she was an elementary school teacher in El Salvador. She later joined her husband, Manuel in Salinas, California, where they raised their daughter, Mirna. Nena loved gardening and was especially proud of her roses. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Palacios of Salinas her daugher, Mirna (Antonio) Margarito grandchildren, Manuel and Alexis great-granddaughter, Angelina nephew, Carlos Martinez sister, Maria V. Martinez along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 1-9pm with a Rosary recital at 7pm all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Chapel Blessing will take place on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 10am at the Healey Mortuary Chapel. Cremation to take place.
