Charles Henry Santiago

May 15, 1947 — Jun 22, 2026

Charles Henry Santiago, born on May 15, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026 in Fort Valley, Georgia. The journey of his life has left an enduring legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and commitment to others. At the family's request, all services will be private.

From the very first days of his childhood in Philadelphia, Charles radiated a warmth that drew people near. Those formative years were shaped by the loving guidance of his parents, Francisco Santiago and Pilar Solis Santiago, and his sisters and brothers whose bonds would become an anchor for the years to come. Though both his father and mother, as well as his beloved sister Louisa Wiggins, preceded him in death, their memory lived vividly in Charles’s heart and found expression in the way he cared for everyone around him.

Charles’s educational path began at Coral Park High School in Miami, Florida, where his keen mind and steady reliability made him a friend to many and a confidant to those who needed a listening ear. His teachers saw in him a work ethic and tenderness that would come to define his years ahead. Throughout his life, Charles found special purpose in service to others. Among his proudest accomplishments was assisting with Track and Field at Houston County High School for many years. He became a familiar and beloved face to generations of student athletes, offering encouragement from the sidelines, guidance on and off the track, and a quiet example of selfless commitment. In these acts, Charles quietly molded lives and inspired all those fortunate enough to cross his path.

He is survived by his children: Jennifer and Charles, Jr.; siblings: Mitch Santiago, Seni Maxwell, Carmen Santiago, and Maria Sabelko.

Those who knew Charles, whether as family, friend, or mentor, will forever carry with them the memory of his gentle words and steadfast spirit. His absence leaves a silence that cannot be filled, but his love echoes in the hearts of all he touched.

Charles Henry Santiago’s life stands as a testament to unobtrusive greatness, daily generosity, and the beauty of a spirit devoted to others. He will be missed deeply and remembered always by family, friends, and the community whose lives are richer for having known him.
