Doris Dillard Renfroe

With deep sorrow and enduring love, we remember Doris Dillard Renfroe, who departed this world on August 17, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on August 1, 1947, Doris graced every life she touched with an abiding kindness, a quality she carried throughout her life and work. A memorial gathering will be held to celebrate Doris’s remarkable life on August 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, 701 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, GA 31093. All who knew her are invited to come together to share memories, offer comfort, and honor a life so beautifully lived.

Doris was the cherished wife of N. Barry Renfroe, to whom she devoted many treasured years. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home filled with love and gentle laughter. As a mother, Doris poured her heart into raising her beloved daughter, Janet Crosby, guiding her with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support. Her legacy continued to grow with her grandchildren: Ashley Miller, Amanda Noe, Adam Gunter, Casey Gunter, and 4 great grandchildren, each of whom will forever remember her loving presence, gentle encouragement, and the special way she made every moment together memorable. She also survived by a numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her father, Horace Dillard; her mother, Mary Will Hall Dillard; her daughter, Joan Gunter; and her brother, Ricky Dillard. Though their absence has been keenly felt, the bonds Doris shared with them were a constant source of comfort and strength throughout her life.

Doris’s career as a civil servant at Robins Air Force Base stands as a testament to her dedication, integrity, and work ethic. Her service and commitment touched the lives of many colleagues and countless others who benefitted from her efforts.

A proud high school graduate, Doris found particular joy and fulfillment in the simple, beautiful things in life: tending to her garden, traveling to new places, feeling the sand beneath her feet at the beach, and reveling in the majesty of the mountains. Each hobby reflected her appreciation for life’s wonders, her sense of adventure, and her devotion to cultivating both beauty and new memories.

Above all, those closest to Doris will remember her unwavering kindness—a gentle presence that radiated love, understanding, and patience. She taught, by quiet example, the importance of compassion, grace, and the readiness to find joy in each day. Family and friends were at the center of her world, and she leaves behind cherished memories that will linger in the hearts of all who loved her.
