Gail Kathryn Adams
December 22, 1938 — May 2, 2026
Gail Kathryn Adams, née Coker, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Bonaire, Georgia. Born on December 22, 1938, in Charleston, South Carolina, Gail lived a life marked by sweetness, care, and devotion to her family and faith.
A devoted homemaker, Gail was known for her nurturing spirit and the warmth she brought into her home. She completed her education through the ninth grade, after which she dedicated herself to fostering a loving environment for those around her. Her love for the Lord was central to her life, and she was a member of The First Church of Centerville while also attending Harvest Church regularly. Gospel music was a cherished part of her daily life, reflecting her deep spiritual connection.
Gail cherished her garden with a passion. She spent countless hours tending to her flower beds and hanging pots, delighting in the vibrant colors of any flowers she could nurture. Bird watching was among her favorite pastimes, offering moments of peaceful reflection. For a time, Gail found joy as part of a bowling league, enjoying camaraderie and friendly competition. She also enjoyed watching game shows but held a special affection for soap operas, which brought her entertainment and companionship.
Her family was the cornerstone of her existence. Gail and her beloved spouse, James Leroy Adams, shared almost 70 years of marriage—69 years of steadfast partnership filled with love and mutual support. They are survived by their three devoted children: Kathy Hickman (Mark), Terry Adams (Lorri), and Gary Adams (Amy). Gail's legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Ryan Hickman, Justin Hickman, Ansley Adams, Gary Adams, Jr., Angel Adams, Corey Adams, and several others whose lives she touched deeply. She was also blessed with her beloved brother, Keith Coker, Jr., and multiple great-grandchildren, including Rhett Hickman, who carried forward her loving spirit.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Keith Coker and Katerina Fredricka Pommer Coker, and her grandchild Destine Adams. Their memories remain treasured in the hearts of all who knew her.
