Janice E. Sessions Lawrence

October 13, 1940 — September 1, 2025

Janice Sessions Lawrence, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and pastor’s wife entered her eternal rest on September 1, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on October 13, 1940, and made her home in Byron, Georgia, where she lived a life devoted to Christ, her family, and her church. A funeral service to celebrate and honor Jan’s life will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A visitation will take place one hour prior between the hours of 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Jan will be laid to rest at Parkway Memorial Gardens.

Jan was the cherished wife of Tom Lawrence and mother of three daughters: Robbin Willis, Dawn Raley, and Becky Griffin. She delighted in her role as Grandma to her six grandchildren—Kurt Willis, Cassie Gaston, Courtney Raley, Channing Raley, Peyton Raley, Emily Griffin, and her great-grandchild Zion Gaston. Her family was her joy and serving them reflected her unwavering commitment to Christ’s call to nurture, guide, and pray for those entrusted to her care.

As a pastor’s wife for many years, Janice faithfully stood alongside her husband in ministry, serving wholeheartedly with grace, strength, and steadfast devotion. She was a consistent leader and an example of a godly woman to all who knew her. Her influence extended beyond the pastoral ministry through her dedicated involvement in the Georgia Assemblies of God, where she poured into women’s ministries and made a lasting impact on countless lives.

Janice will always be remembered as a Proverbs 31 woman—diligent, wise, gracious, and clothed with strength and honor. She lived a life of faith that will continue to inspire her family, friends, and all those blessed by her example.

Though our hearts grieve her passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Christ and celebrate the legacy of faith, love, and service that Jan leaves behind.
