Lewis Jennings Parker, Jr., a man whose life was marked by distinguished service, unwavering dedication, and heartfelt generosity, passed from this world on May 26, 2026, in Warner Robins, Georgia. A memorial service honoring the life and memory of Lewis Jennings Parker, Jr. will be held at the First United Methodist Church, located at 205 North Davis Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia, 31093, on May 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM. This gathering will no doubt resonate with the warmth and respect befitting a man whose life was a beacon of integrity and devotion.
Born on July 10, 1940, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he lived a rich and purposeful life that left an indelible impression on all who were privileged to know him. Lewis' academic journey was a testament to his relentless pursuit of knowledge and excellence. He proudly graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1962, furthered his studies at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and culminated his formal education by earning a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1970. His intellectual rigor extended beyond degrees, as evidenced by his certification from Norvell as a Certified Network Engineer, demonstrating his commitment to staying abreast of technological advances throughout his career.
His professional tenure was equally commendable, having contributed significantly to the fields of aerospace and defense through his work with Martin Marietta and Boeing. There, he applied his expertise and ingenuity, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and professionalism.
Lewis was also a proud veteran, having served with honor in the United States Navy. His time in uniform was marked by a steadfast dedication to his country, embodying the virtues of courage and loyalty. Beyond his professional and military achievements, Lewis was deeply committed to his faith and community. Notably affiliated with the Gideons International, he found profound joy in distributing New Testament Bibles to schools, a reflection of his generous spirit and steadfast belief in the power of faith to inspire and comfort.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret "Peggy" Parker, whose partnership enriched his life immeasurably. Together, they nurtured a loving family: sons Jonathan Parker, married to Tammy, and David Tyler, married to Jill; cherished grandchildren Jessica Kendall (Will), Matthew Tyler (Sarah), Emily Zaremba (David), Eric Tyler, Jacob Parker, and Kali Parker; and four precious great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy of love and strength. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Jennings Parker, Sr. and India Elizabeth Newman Parker, and his brother, David Newman Parker, whose memories he treasured dearly.
In remembering Lewis Jennings Parker, Jr., we celebrate a life exquisitely lived—anchored by the bonds of family, illuminated by service to country and community, and sustained by a faith that transcended the bounds of earthly existence. His legacy endures in countless hearts, a testament to a noble soul who stood steadfast and true.
