Mr. Jeffrey Howard Oldham
July 21, 1985 — June 24, 2023
Mr. Jeffrey "Jeff" Howard Oldham, 37, passed away Saturday June 24, 2023, after a prolonged illness. A celebration of his life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
Jeff was born on the island of Guam to David Oldham and Holly Verberkmoes. Jeff first came to live in Warner Robins when he was 6 years old and graduated from Northside High School in 2003. Jeff found joy in music and was active in choir at Trinity United Methodist Church and was a first chair trombone player in the Northside High School marching band and Jazz Band during his youth. After high school, Jeff continued his music studies at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University where he made many friends. To his fellow musician friends Jeff became known by his nickname, “Dutch.” Later Jeff attended Macon State University and received his bachelor’s degree in information technology.
Jeff enjoyed gaming on his computer, studying history, recording sessions for his podcast, and spending time with family and friends. Jeff had a tender and generous heart full of compassion for all people and animals. He was also incredibly witty and good at making people laugh. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and a dear friend to many; He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jeff is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard “Jack” Oldham and Edith “Edie” Oldham, and his maternal grandmother, Helen “Cathy” Verberkmoes. Jeff is survived by his father, David (Shani) Oldham; mother, Holly (Andy) Gross; sister, Aimee Catherine Greenwood; maternal grandfather, Cornelius H. Verberkmoes; aunts, Lisa (Richard) Jones, Rebecca (John) Ribar and Eileen Oldham; uncle, Cornelius H. (Amanda) Verberkmoes, III.; several cousins and a host of extended friends and family.
