Ronald Keith Tolbert was born on June 11, 1956 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to the union of Ronald Alfred Tolbert and Lorraine Harris. Later in his life, his mother, Lorraine married Willis McCoy of Detroit, Michigan who also became his beloved father and mentor. Ronald began serving Jehovah at an early age and was currently serving faithfully as an Elder for the Wellston Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Ronald was educated in the public schools system in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He became a skilled tradesman in various fields. Ronald later worked as a supervisor for the Department of Public Works for the city of Detroit where he served diligently for thirty years. After moving to Georgia, he worked several years for the Public Works Department in Perry, Georgia.
Ronald was an excellent speaker and speech writer. He wrote about many challenges that brought great wisdom to so many family members and friends who heard him speak. In 1980, Ronald welcomed a daughter, Danielle Quinn Carrington and in 1981, he also welcomed a son, Brice Tolbert. Ronald was married to Debrona Wright of Detroit, Michigan for 19 years before her passing. To this union was born a son, Korbin Keith Tolbert. Years after the passing of his first wife, Debrona, Ronald married Jeanette Burton in 2009.After Ronald and Jeanette retired, they relocated from Detroit, Michigan to Warner Robins, Georgia where they enjoyed eleven years of the southern lifestyle together. Ronald and Jeanette traveled internationally and countryside together. Ronald loved being close to the oceans. He loved to cook for his family and friends, especially barbecuing.
He was a loving and faithful husband, a devoted father, and a person who dearly loved all of his family and friends. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Alfred Tolbert and Lorraine Harris; stepfather, Willis McCoy; and a son, Brice Tolbert. Ronald passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024. He was 68 years old.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jeanette Tolbert of Byron, Georgia; children: Danielle Carrington Golida (Balen) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Korbin Tolbert (Brooklyn) of Jackson, Tennessee; grandchildren: Khalil, Khi, Aubrey, Korbin, Jr., and London; brothers: Barry Hunt of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Anthony McCoy (Vece) of Detroit, Michigan and Pierre McCoy of Southfield, Michigan; sisters: Letice Ricks (Marcus) of Detroit, Michigan and Taymahnee Brantley of Detroit, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Takisha Henry (DeShawn) of Belleville, Michigan; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
