Joshua Stephen Townley

September 30, 1983 — April 30, 2026

Joshua Stephen Townley of Belleview, FL, went to be with the Lord the morning of April 30, 2026. He was 42 years old. Joshua was born on September 30, 1983, in Ocala, Florida. Josh was preceded in death by his father, J.O. "Toro" Townley Jr,: his brothers, John Walter Townley, Wallace Trevor Hall and Eric Knight,; his grandparents J.O. "Jake" and Helen Townley and Robert Kelsey VanAken. He is survived by mother, Becki Hall (Wallace); his grandmother, Elizabeth Mullins; his stepmother, Pamela Townley; his brother, J.O. "Beau" Townley III (Amanda); and his sisters, Tori Dudley (Steven), Shawn Clemons (Allen) and Adrian "Amy" Knight (Wesley). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Josh dedicated 29 years of his life to Townley Engineering and Manufacturing Co. He started working summers at Townley, doing everything from mowing grass to learning and working in each department. After graduation, he went to work for a plumbing company and eventually returned to the family business. He started back as a fork lift driver, returned to school, earned his CDL, and then began making deliveries throughout Florida. Through hard work and determination, he advanced to Head of Logistics. Josh was loved and respected by everyone he worked with and was always willing to step in when help was needed. He took great pride in his work he did and the people around him, and he continued to do so until his retirement at the end of August 2025. Josh had the most kind, caring, loving and generous heart, and he was always looking for ways to help others. After retiring, he found joy and peace on the property that he purchased in Georgia. He hoped to continue his brother's legacy there, as John always called Georgia his second home. Josh named the property December's Angels Farm in honor of his father and his brother. Josh enjoyed hunting hogs, coyote and deer, as well as operating his equipment on the land. After John's passing, his love of firearms grew, as everything he did was to honor his brother. He also had a passion for fast cars and owned a wide variety over the years. For the last 11 years, one of Josh's greatest joys was his little dog, Daisy. She was his baby and everyone knew it. She brought him so much love, comfort and companionship through both good days and bad. When John passed, Josh stepped into a father-figure role for Hayli, always wanting to make sure she was ok. He also helped raise two children from his precious marriage, Ashlyn and Gavin. Though he never had children of his own, they always held a special place in his heart. Josh's faith in the Lord always remained strong no matter what he faced in life, and he always trusted that the Lord would see him through. Last year, he reached out to Pastor Michael Kirby to rededicate his life to the Lord. The most important things in his life were faith, family and friends. As we lay Josh to rest, it is not goodbye, it is until we meet again.
