Rajendra G. Mahabir

Rajendra G. “Raj” Mahabir, 52, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021. Raj was born in Brooklyn, NY to Gobin and Yvonne Mahabir then moved to Ocala in 1983 as a teen where he attended Lake Weir High School and graduated in 1988. Raj followed in his father’s footsteps as a mechanic, and is well known in the Oklawaha area where he had his mechanic shop. Raj was notorious for his love of muscle cars, loud music, being with his friends and family, and most importantly his laugh that can light up a room and kind heart that reached everyone he came into contact with. Raj was predeceased by his father Gobin Mahabir in 1998. He is survived by his mother Yvonne Mahabir, 3 sisters; Charmaine Paul, Shivashti Mahabir, and Leandra Mahabir, his eldest brother Ramesh Mahabir, 3 nieces Taylor, Reena, and Krysta, 2 nephews Cody and Ramesh II, and great nephew Mykah. Visitation will be 6-8pm on Monday, January 25th at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Service chapel in Ocala. Funeral ceremonies will be Tuesday morning beginning at 9am at the funeral home.
