Sandra M. Newsome, a devoted homemaker and cherished member of Faith Baptist Church in Ottawa, passed away on May 13, 2026, in Ottawa, Ohio. Born on August 20, 1951, in Barberton, Ohio, Sandra lived a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family and community.

Sandra was a woman of many talents and interests. She found joy in sewing, exploring the colorful world of adult coloring books, painting, and engaging in spirited games of Bingo. Her fondness for owls was a unique reflection of her gentle and wise spirit. These passions not only enriched her life but also brought happiness to those who were fortunate to know her.

Throughout her life, Sandra was deeply rooted in her faith as a steadfast member of Faith Baptist Church in Ottawa. Her dedication to her faith community was a testament to her strength and character.

Sandra’s family was central to her life. She is survived by her two beloved sons, Jason Newsome of Ocala, Florida, and Justin Newsome, along with his wife Kayla, of Belleview, Florida. She also leaves behind three siblings: Randall Petit and his wife Betty Lawrence of Celina, Cindy Remaklus-Hicks of Alvo, Nebraska, and Linda Hart of Columbus Grove. They, along with many friends, will carry forward her memory with love and admiration.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie (Davis) Petit; her devoted husband, Gary Newsome; and her brothers, Ronald Petit, Gary Petit, and Russ Petit.

The family will gather to honor Sandra’s life and say their final goodbyes with a burial service to be held on May 21, 2026. The service will commence at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park, located at 1515 Northeast 3rd Street, Ocala, Florida, followed by the burial at 11:00 a.m.

Sandra M. Newsome’s legacy is one of love, creativity, faith, and family. Her presence touched many, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with respect and affection.
