Tex N. Wicker

August 30, 1939 — April 15, 2026

Tex N Wicker Sr, 86, of Summerfield, Florida, on April 15, 2026 Tex was called Home to his Lord and Savior. He passed comfortably at his Daughter and son-in-law’s house in Bell, Florida, with family by his side.

Tex was born August 30, 1939, in Laurinburg, North Carolina, to William Wicker (Father) and Ada Ramsey (Mother). Growing up in the mountains, he and three of his friends, Carl Huffman being one of them, decided on a flip of a coin to either go to California or Florida. God definitely wanted them in Florida. Best Friend Dorothy introduced him to his Beloved Wife Joy on a blind date. They were married for just shy of 60 years.

Tex’s primary employment was with Liquid Carbonic as a Truck Driver out of Hollywood, Florida, for over 20 years. He would deliver Oxygen to the Hospitals and took his job very seriously, knowing he was helping people, too.

Tex, in his early years, had founded a motorcycle club which they named “The Tribes.” He was the President of the club and enjoyed every moment on his Harley with his family and friends. He enjoyed the Poker Runs they had done and also plenty of times at Bike week with his Wife. Good Ole Days!!!

Then, in the later days, Tex founded a Camping club named “The Florida Flamingos,” enjoying camping. He and his wife were able to travel most of the United States in their Motorhome.

Tex is preceded in Death by his Parents, his Son Ellis Guy, his sister Frankie Burton, his brother Gene Wicker, and his Beautiful Bride Joy. Tex is survived by his Daughter Donna Ginkel (Peter), two amazing grandchildren, Mandy and Adam, three handsome great-grandsons, Son Tex Jr, and Nieces and Nephews.

A Going Home Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at 10:00 am. Highlands Memorial Park 1515 NE 3rd Street Ocala, FL 34470

In place of Flowers, the family requests donations be made to Haven Hospice out of Chiefland, FL, an organization dedicated to providing compassionate care during some of the most difficult times.

As we remember Tex Wicker Sr, he could never meet a stranger, always wanting to cut up and be Silly. He would say all the time and try to catch you before you leave off guard and say, “Hey….. BYE!!! Laughing every time. Or “Hey… watch the Curve.” Until we see you again: We Love and Miss you Dearly!!! God Bless.
