After graduating from Northwood High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps as an Assistant Weapons Controller, completing his service career as a lifeguard at the Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Shortly after returning to Maryland, he met and married the love of his life. And after graduating from Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, with a degree in Television Broadcasting, he began his career in Media Resources at Montgomery College on the Takoma Park Campus for over 30 years, receiving two Special Recognition Awards, two Outstanding Service Awards and numerous letters of appreciation from faculty and staff. He retired as a Media Resources Manager. Following retirement, he continued working as an ambassador at Nancy Lopez and Glenview Country clubs in The Villages, Florida.
