Linda Lou Holbert

Linda Holbert passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Romeo Withrow; her mother, Stella Withrow; her brother, Glen Withrow; her twin sister, Brenda Shackelford; and her nephew, Chuck Withrow.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, David Holbert, whose life was deeply intertwined with hers in a bond of enduring love. Linda was a proud and caring mother to two daughters. Her eldest, Donell Holbert of Summersville, WV, along with grandson Chris Baker and his wife Julie of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and her cherished great grandchildren, Evie and Austin. Her youngest daughter Delaine Carter of Sandyville, WV, and her husband Richie Carter, along with their children, granddaughter Jordan Carter and grandson Jeremiah Carter.
Linda is also survived by her loving brother, Ernest “Whitey” Withrow of The Villages, Florida. She will fondly be missed by her nieces Pam Stafford, Jill Childers, Paula Barton and nephews Joe Young and Mike Withrow.
She was raised in Jodie, WV, Linda carried the values of community kindness, and resilience with her wherever she went. She later made her home in The Villages Florida; she continued to build lasting friendships and warm connections.
Linda was a deeply artistic and creative soul. She found joy in ceramics, even owning her own kiln, and expressed her talents through painting and, in her later years, crafting beautiful handmade cards for every occasion-each one a reflection of her thoughtful and giving spirit.
Professionally, Linda was a dental assistant for 13 years before continuing her career at Trinidad Catholic High School in Trinidad, Colorado for 20 years. She began as a secretary to Sister Isabella, the principal, and later served as a librarian under Mr. Reorda. Her work there left a lasting impression on students and staff alike, reflecting her kindness, dedication, quiet strength.
Linda’s life was defined by her love for her family, her creativity, and her gentle, caring nature. She touched the lives of many and will deeply be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her.
