Daryl Lynn Spivey

Mrs. Daryl Lynn Self Spivey, age 89, a resident of Auburndale, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland surrounded by family. Mrs. Spivey was born May 17, 1937, in Cullman County, Alabama to William Talmadge and Verla Lillian (Key) Self. She was an Auburndale resident for over 60 years coming from Alabama. Daryl was a homemaker, member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale and a Foster Parent for 500 children over the years. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years – Clayton Holloway Spivey, Sr.; daughter - Sandra Vanderveen; 2 brothers – Harlis Self & Herdon Self; 5 sisters – Norma Patricia Self, Marceline Self Alred, Dorothy Self Jenkins, Janice Self Miller & Lynette Self Moss. Mrs. Spivey is survived by her loving family, son – Clayton (Martha) Spivey, Jr.; daughter Holly Buxman; 8 grandchildren – Heath (Michelle), Holly (Chris), Heather (Matthew), Savannah, Connor, Chad (Shawn), Court & Christan and many great grandchildren. A private burial will be held at Auburndale Memorial Park per Mrs. Spivey’s request.
