In Loving Memory of Mr. John Eldridge Knox Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Eldridge Knox, Jr., age 80, who departed this life on May 19, 2025, in Auburndale, Florida. Born on October 28, 1944, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, John was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. John is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 62 years, Pamela Knox, and their two sons, David and Rupert Knox, alongside their wives, Teresa and Anna Knox. His legacy is further enriched by his beloved granddaughter, Johnna Knox of Lake Wales, Florida and his step grandchildren Naomi Guzman and Aj Roman. He is also survived by his brother, James Knox and sister-in-law Cindy, as well as his sister, Sarah Knox, both residing in Spring Lake, North Carolina. John was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Knox of Wade, North Carolina.

 John dedicated 42 years of his career to BP/Amoco, where his hard work and loyalty earned him the respect of his colleagues. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was known for his generous spirit and his love for mechanical work and motorcycles. He found joy in tinkering in his workshop, riding his motorcycle down winding roads, and immersing himself in classic Western films. 

A celebration of John’s remarkable life will be held at a date to be announced, as family and friends gather to honor the enduring memory of a man whose kindness and humor touched the lives of so many. John’s character was defined by traits of ambition, honesty, and thoughtfulness, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. In this difficult time, the family invites all who wish to express their condolences to cherish their memories of John and to find comfort in the love he shared with each of us.
