Larry Stephen Bridges

Larry Stephen (Steve) Bridges passed away on Saturday, June 6th at the age of 60 after a long, hard fought battle following an aortic dissection and a massive stroke. Steve is survived by a life partner of seventeen years, Lisa Davidson; two children, Brandon Bridges and Jessica (Curtis) Cochran; two stepchildren, Heather Davidson and Brittney (Neil) Legters; one grandchild, Deegan Cochran; four step grandchildren, Payton Davidson, Hiley Barber, Carter Simpkins and Dominic Bordello; eight siblings, Randal (Tracy) Bridges and Gregory (Monica) Bridges, David Bridges, Tony Hitson, David Wilson, Shari Apple, Melody Green, Roger Green; lots of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins that he all loved so dearly. Steve is preceded in death by both of his parents, Elmer Bridges and Jimmie Lou Wilson, his stepmother Maggie Bridges, stepfather Dave Wilson, brother Jeff Wilson, stepson Chris Davidson and many aunts and uncles. He was born on December 9, 1965, in Plant City, FL to Jimmie Lou and Elmer Bridges. He worked in construction for almost his entire adult life, displaying his pride in building things and showing his craftsmanship. He loved to fish, play drums, play guitar and sing karaoke. He was also found at the flea market almost every weekend he wasn’t working. Family was an important thing to him, and he loved to make sure to catch up with everyone as much as possible. Steve’s stories were always the best around and he never met a stranger that he didn’t want to tell them all to. Steve will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12th at Kersey Funeral Home in Auburndale, FL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. for all family and friends. Pastor Jerry Smith will officiate. Flowers, donations and condolences may be offered to the funeral home or directly to the family.
