Mrs. Margaret Ann Sturgis, age 91, a resident of Auburndale, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Spring Lake Nursing Center surrounded by family. Mrs. Sturgis was born April 13, 1934, in Paragould, Arkansas to Clarence Cecil and Bertha Agnes (Barr) Penny. She was an Auburndale resident for 73 years, coming from Florence, Arizona and lived in the Kersey apartments for over 30 years. She attended Green County Technical School in Arkansas. She was a member of the 34th Street Church of God in Winter Haven and attended Berea Baptist Church in Auburndale. Margaret worked for Taylor’s Drug Store in Auburndale for 20 years and Lang’s Country Groves in Lake Alfred for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – John Aubrey Sturgis and 2 brothers – Ray & Leland. Margaret is survived by her loving & devoted family, daughter – Mickey (Larry) Pynes; son – Danny Sturgis; 6 grandchildren – Josh (May), Shawn (April), Shane (Ambra), Somer (Eric), Courtney & John; 10 great grandchildren – Trenton, Shianne, Kaylee, Asher, Dalton, Lanie, Clayton, Norah, Aubrey & Zoey; 2 great great granddaughters – Everleigh & Kennedi several nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral services will be held 11am Monday, April 6th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
