Randy Otto Witzel

Randy Otto Witzel, 66, of Auburndale, FL, passed away May 7, 2026, at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, FL. Randy was born July 17, 1959, in Grand Forks, ND, to Dewey and Dorraine (Mutcher) Witzel. He grew up on the family farm, northeast of Langdon, ND, and attended school there, helping in the fields in summer. After graduation he traveled around awhile before settling in Auburndale, FL. He was once married to the late Michelle Watson, and together they had a son.

Randy worked in construction most of his life and was a master carpenter.

He was a dedicated biker and loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also enjoyed going to drag car races with his son and was a member of the National Hot Rod Association. His happiest times were spent outdoors on his bike, grilling and smoking food, and spending time with his son. His love of music included Lynryd Skynryd, the Silver Bullet Band, and music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

He is survived by his son, Wiley, Auburndale, FL; sisters Sandy Kudrna (Daniel) and Judy Simmons, Grand Forks, ND; five nephews; and long-time friend, Theresa Thompson, Winter Haven, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved cats Henery and Freckles. A private family remembrance ceremony will be held at a later date.
