May 25, 1943 — March 29, 2026
**Obituary for Scarlet Turner West** **May 25, 1943 – March 29, 2026** It is with heavy hearts but uplifted spirits that we honor the life of Scarlet Turner West, who peacefully departed this world on March 29, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on May 25, 1943, in Sebring, Florida, Scarlet's journey through life was marked by unwavering faith, love, and a radiant spirit that inspired all who knew her. Scarlet was a proud graduate of Auburndale High School, class of 1961, but her true education came from her deep commitment to her faith and her family. She dedicated herself to sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others, touching countless lives along the way. Scarlet's warm presence and sweet disposition radiated like sunshine, offering comfort and joy to everyone around her. She exemplified kindness and consideration in all her interactions, leaving a lasting impact that will be cherished by her loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Scarlet is survived by her son, David Benton West Jr., and her daughters, Starla Hammock and Serena Bailey (Troy Bailey). Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Sommer Everetts Barnes, Brittany Everetts, Tyler Scott Bailey, and Sydney Ann Travers (Ryan Travers), as well as her great-grandchildren, Savanna Barnes, Lane Everetts, Callan Travers, and Logan Travers. Scarlet was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Floyd Aaron (Bud) Turner and Lillian Faye Odum-Dupree, who instilled in her the values that guided her throughout her life. In addition to her love for her family, Scarlet was a powerful example of faith in action. She cherished her relationship with God, and her commitment to her ministry was evident in the certificates of ordination she earned, allowing her to exercise her gifts and serve others. She believed in the importance of putting God first, and her unwavering devotion is a cornerstone of her legacy. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Scarlet's life during visitation on April 7, 2026, from 10 AM to 11 AM at Kersey Funeral Home located at 108 Lake Stella Dr., Auburndale, FL 33823, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. As we say goodbye, let us remember Scarlet not with sorrow, but as a shining example of love, grace, and faith. We find solace in knowing that she is now at peace, dancing in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. Her memory will remain alive in our hearts, inspiring us to embrace our loved ones wholeheartedly and carry forth her legacy of kindness and devotion.
