Thomas E. Kilgore

Thomas E. Kilgore, a devoted family man and dedicated professional, passed away on May 4, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Winter Haven, Florida. Born on October 31, 1947, in Winter Haven, Thomas’s life was one marked by commitment, both to his work and to those he held dear.

A proud graduate of Winter Haven High School’s Class of 1965, Thomas furthered his education at Polk Community College, laying the foundation for a lifelong career defined by diligence and integrity. He devoted 30 years of his professional life to Commercial Carriers Corporation, where his steadfast work ethic was well recognized. Prior to that, he contributed his talents to E.R. Jahna and later concluded his career with Standard Sand and Silica, from which he retired.

Thomas’s personal life reflected the same steadfast loyalty and love. He shared a marriage of 53 years with his wife, Beatrice Kilgore, a partnership marked by mutual respect and affection. Together, they built a family that brought them great joy. Their son, Brett Kilgore, and daughter-in-law Erica, along with their grandson Cale Kilgore, remain a testament to Thomas’s enduring legacy of family values and love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff Kilgore and Tillie Kilgore, who no doubt shaped the man he became with their own example and guidance.

The community and all who knew Thomas are invited to honor his memory at a visitation on May 15, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at Kersey Funeral Home located at 108 Lake Stella Drive in Auburndale, Florida. Following the visitation, a memorial service will commence at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, providing a time for reflection and remembrance among family, friends, and loved ones.

Thomas E. Kilgore’s life was one of dedication—to his work, his family, and his community. His memory will be cherished by those who were privileged to know him, and his legacy will endure in the hearts of his family and all whose lives he touched.
