Phillip Gingerich
February 7, 1950 — February 20, 2016
Phillip “Phil” Allen Gingerich was born in Standard, IL to Walter and Alice (Fleishour) Gingerich on February 7, 1950. He attended Standard Elementary School and graduated from Putnam County High School in 1968. He went on to earn an Education degree from Illinois State University and obtained his Master’s degree from NOVA Southeastern University. Phil taught for roughly 37 years. He most recently worked as a Talented and Gifted teacher at Gray Elementary School and retired from teaching in June of 2015.
Phil was a religious man and was very involved with his Church (Cornerstone Church). He also enjoyed photography, traveling and spending time with friends.
Phil returned to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 20, 2016. He had attained the age of sixty six years, one week and six days. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Alice Gingerich. He is dearly missed by his friends and loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
The memorial service will be held at The Crossing Church (7950 W Windmill Lane) in Las Vegas on March 8, 2016 at 10:00 am. Lunch will follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Phil’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to The Crossing Church. Memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Church (PO Box 81798, Las Vegas, NV 89180).
