Richard Detmar Anderson

Richard Detmar Anderson, 69 years old of Las Vegas passed away on March 31, 2015. Richard Anderson was born on June 2, 1945, in Everett, Washington. He graduated from Washington High School in St. Paul, MN in 1963. He earned his Associates Degree at Brown Institute for Computer Programming in Minneapolis, MN. He was a very hard working man, who never gave up the fight. He was a loving, caring and thoughtful person with a great memory that never forgot a birthday or anniversary. Richard had a long career with multiple commercial airlines specializing in mainframe computer reservation systems. While on the road he was also known as the "Swedish Godfather." He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, airplanes, avid collector of guns and mugs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling around the world. He also enjoyed watching the Vikings (MN football team) and collecting all their memorabilia. He loved watching old western movies featuring his all time favorite Clint Eastwood. Richard is survived by his wife, Josephine Anderson; his daughter, Lynn Ramin (Douglas) of Maplewood, MN, his sons, Mark Anderson (Ellen) of Menlo Park, CA, John Anderson (Kimberly) of Forest Lake, MN, children of Sharon LaPorte; and Jorge Anderson of Las Vegas, NV son of Josephine Anderson; his grandchildren, Brandon Ramin, Amanda Ramin, Olivia Ramin, Claire Anderson, Quinn Anderson, Matthew Gohl (Shara) and Natasha Anderson; his brother, Raymond Anderson (Dolores) of Mahtomedi,Minnesota; his dog and faithful companion, Prince. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Louise Anderson. A Memorial service will be held on April 7, 2015 at 1pm at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Service 3975 S. Durango Drive Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89147. Following the service there will be a gathering at 2201 S Monte Cristo Way, Las Vegas, NV 89117 for a light dinner and a time to share memories of Richard.
