Ronald Arthur Weingard
December 3, 1932 — July 17, 2015
Ronald Arthur Weingard, age 82, a 25 year resident of Las Vegas and Henderson, died Friday, July 17, 2015. Ronald was born December 3, 1932 in Brooklyn NY to the late Louis and the late Thelma (Levine) Weingard. Ronald served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired elementary school teacher and was the principal of a synagogue school in Bay Shore, Long Island NY. After moving to Las Vegas, Ronald taught in the Congregation Ner Tamid religious school for about 10 years. Ronald was a member of the Jewish War Veteran Post 65. He loved playing poker, reading and playing sports, mostly baseball, handball and tennis. He was very involved with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was present at all of their births. Ronald possessed a great sense of humor and was a jokester his entire life. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Zelda Weingard; daughter Bonnie (Bryant) Morris; grandchildren Stephanie Gherardini, Lester (Sandra) Gherardini, Melissa (Mike) Moore and Lauren Gherardini; and great grandchildren Brody and Landon Gherardini, Josslyn Moore, Dominick Moore, Colton Moore. He is predeceased by son Laurance Weingard. A funeral service will be held at 10:40 AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, 89005. Contributions in Ronald's memory may be made to the Jewish War Veterans, Post 65.
