Our affectionate and loving son, adored brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to many, Rocco Armando Alaniz left us to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the tender age of 11 years old in Guadalupe, Arizona.

Rocco Armando Alaniz was born on July 10, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona.  Rocco is survived by his parents, Vanessa Lozano and Lupe Alaniz; siblings Giani Valenzuela, Samantha Sanchez, Lupe Jr., Celeste and Luis Alaniz; Grandmother, Doreen Perez, Susana Franco, and Great Grandpa Roy Perez.

Rocco brought joy and energy to everyone who knew him. Rocco was born with the courage to believe that any type of darkness could not hold him as long as he continued to create his own light.

From an early age, Rocco was known for his fun-loving spirit, boundless energy, and carefree nature. He had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found playing in the streets with his friends, laughing and making memories that will be cherished forever.

Rocco found happiness in the simple pleasures of life — whether it was riding a scooter, throwing a ball around, playing basketball, eating a good cherry tomato or simply enjoying the sunshine, Rocco embraced every moment with a sense of adventure and joy. He would share his infectious smile with everyone around him and had a hug that could brighten even the darkest day.

Rocco enjoyed participating in extracurricular sports that allowed him to explore his interests and connect with others. He played his entire career with the TGLL league and the Guadalupe Boy’s & Girl’s Club.  His vibrant personality and eagerness to engage made him a beloved presence among peers and adults alike.

Rocco was truly a gift in everyone’s life that he touched.  Rocco could capture your heart instantly. Rocco was unquestionably a kid’s kid, comfortable in his own skin with his mismatched clothes and high knee socks. As long as Rocco was comfortable that’s all that he cared about.

Rocco’s joyful presence will be deeply missed by his family. Though his time with us was far too short, Rocco’s bright spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.  Rocco will remain in our hearts for eternity.  

A Viewing will be held on June 28, 2025, from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Legacy Funeral Home, 1374 N. Arizona Avenue. A Burial will be held on June 28, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 01:30 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Avenue
