Suzanne Cecelia McArthur

Suzanne C. McArthur, age 87, passed away on May 10, 2026, in Chandler, Arizona. She was born on December 8, 1938, in Lansing, Michigan, to Marguerite and Arnold Post.

Suzanne spent her early years on a small family farm in Michigan before moving with her family to Arizona in the 1950s. After marrying Michael McArthur in 1956 and moving around to different military bases, they finally settled in Mesa, AZ. There, she worked for several years at the Camelot restaurant, before beginning a long and dedicated career at Dillard’s Department Stores. With over 30 years in customer service, she became well known for her exceptional gift-wrapping skills, creating beautiful presentations no matter the shape or size of the gift. Throughout these years, she also devoted herself to raising her family.

Sue had a deep love for sewing and was especially known for her one-of-a-kind handmade blankets. In her later years, she found great joy in watching and feeding wild birds -- welcoming all of them, even the pigeons.

She is survived by her four remaining children: Vicki, Michael Jr., Nancy, and Becky; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Michael Sr., and her son, Fredrick.

A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when available. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice.
