Jean Powers

April 28, 1926 — April 10, 2026

On Friday, April 10th, 2026, 18 days before her 100th birthday, Jean Powers departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jean was born in Euclid, Ohio on April 28, 1926, and was the devoted mother of 4 children, 14 grandchildren, 19  great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Don Powers and her eldest son, John Schneider.

Though she lived a very humble and modest life, she was always willing to help others in need with the kindness and generosity she was known for. She contributed to numerous charitable organizations including supporting our veterans, Native Americans, conservation organizations and the homeless. She also opened her home to folks needing a place to live.

Jean loved her country, her family, her church of 30 years, East Mesa Baptist Church, but most of all, her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She loved spending time with family, traveling the country, hiking, rockhounding, reading, playing games and doing jigsaw puzzles.

The amount of joy, peace and contentment Jean had was a product of her relationship with Jesus Christ and was exemplified in how she lived her life. Her life was a blessing to everyone that knew her and her memory will be a lasting one and she will be dearly missed.

Her celebration of life will be conducted at Highway Baptist Church, 10505 E. Brown Rd., Mesa Az, 85207 (phone: 480-986-5021) on May 9th, starting at 11:00 AM. Reception to follow at the same location.
