HAMILTON, Eva Marie, 91, of Land O’ Lakes, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 24, 2017. Born in Forest Lake, MN, on January 8, 1926 to Frank and Elizabeth Strecker. Raised in Coon Lake, MN with 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Eva graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1942, married Wallace (Wally) Hamilton in 1944. They went on to have 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. Their life together as a family was quite adventurous. Many days were filled with hunting and fishing. Eva was quite a shot and could cast with the best of them. Eva was the founding leader of the Cloveleaf 4-H Club in East Bethel, MN. Her work life included raising her beautiful children, working at Honeywell, Federal Cartridge and The Great Northern Railroad in MN. In the year 1970, the family moved to Florida where she became owner and operator of the Sunny Palms Motel in Land O’ Lakes, FL for over 25 years. While in Florida adventures included trips to the beach, with her favorite being Sanibal Island. Eva was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. She was also active in the St. Vincent De Paul society. Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Wallace (Wally) Hamilton, son, Thomas, daughter, Betty Lou, grandson, Thomas Jr, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by two sons, Michael and wife, Ruth of Elgin, MN and Patrick and wife, Gail of Dade City, FL; daughter, Susan Hardy of Land O’ Lakes, FL; daughter-in-law, Florence of Deerwood, MN; 11 grandchildren, Mick, Kathy, Michelle, Nathan, Mitchell, Teri Marie, Kim, Cory, Tom, Susan and Randy; over 20 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen and husband, Jay Brisson of Sauk Centre, MN and Agnes Lundberg of Forest Lake, MN. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Loyless Funeral Home. A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at St. Leo Abbey in San Antonio, FL. Interment following at St. Anthony Cemetery, San Antonio, FL. Pall bearers include, Nathan Hamilton, Mick Hamilton, Mitchell Hamilton, Thomas Hamilton, Cory Hamilton, Paul Harvey, Peyton Schouweiler and Teri Marie Hardy.
