Kenneth Wayne Boggs
Jun 9, 1949 — May 28, 2025
In Loving Memory of Kenneth Boggs June 9, 1949 – May 28, 2025
With both sorrow in our hearts and joy in our spirits, we announce that Ken Boggs has gone home to be with the Lord on May 28, 2025. While we grieve his passing, we rejoice in knowing he is now in the presence of his Savior, whom he loved so deeply.
Ken was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family. He was a loving husband to his high school sweetheart, Cheryl, for 55 years. The proud father of two daughters and their husbands, and the doting grandfather of four, with a great-grand on the way, he found immense joy in being present in their lives, especially on the sidelines of their games, where he cheered, coached, and mentored with passion and pride.
He began his career in the grocery store industry at 16 years old, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for serving others. He quickly worked his way into management, moving him from Indiana to Florida to open new stores, finally settling in Tampa. Later, he transitioned into the home improvement field, where his skill and dedication earned the respect of both colleagues and clients, eventually opening his own business. Following a decline in his health, he went back to his beginnings, ending his career in the grocery industry where he began. A man who worked with his hands and heart, Ken was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He had a gift for making others feel supported, whether through service or his steady presence.
One of his greatest joys was the game of baseball. From playing to coaching his children and grandchildren, Ken's love for the game was contagious. He believed in the values it taught—discipline, teamwork, and perseverance—and he passed those on to every young person he coached.
Above all, Ken loved the Lord and lived his life as a reflection of that faith. His legacy is one of devotion: to God, to family, and to a life well-lived in service to others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; his children, Jenni (Kevin) Layman, Jayme (John) Bluffstone; his grandchildren, Trevor (Alexis) Layman, Jacob Bluffstone, Emma Layman, Kaylee Bluffstone; his brother, Dan (Katina) Boggs and many other beloved family members and friends who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held in Lutz, Florida, at Idlewild Baptist Church on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember him.
Ken will be laid to rest among generations of cherished family on Monday, June 9, 2025, in his hometown of Connersville, Indiana. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at Dale Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ken’s memory to Idlewild Baptist Church’s Recreation Department, a mission close to his heart.
