Pastora Carrion De Collins
August 30, 1963 — January 15, 2019
CARRION DE COLLINS, Pastora, 55, of Land O’Lakes, Florida passed away January 15, 2019. She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, relocated to the United States in 1998, and moved to Florida in 2018. Pastora loved being a Christian and was a faithful member of Templo Elias. Pastora, in her younger years, loved to follow her brothers and sisters so she could be just like them. Perhaps as a result of following her brothers and sisters around, she enjoyed playing marbles and wearing heels. She loved to gossip and talked so much that companies would call and limit her use on the phone. She also loved to dance. Pastora’s dream was to marry a foreigner not from her home country of the Dominican Republic; she married an American. She came to the USA with nothing. Becoming a military family, she was so proud to have obtained her citizenship, driver’s license and supervisory housekeeping job while raising two young children, all during her husband’s numerous deployments. Pastora was a loving mother who also enjoyed being a church youth leader. Pastora is described by family and friends as successful, determined and strong. Pastora’s best memories come from being with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Zoraida. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Robert Collins; son, Diovanni; daughter, Rhiana; three brothers, Jose Antonio Carrion; Ernesto Carrion, Eduardo Carrion; four sisters, Apolinaria DeJesus, Altagracia Carrion, Marina Carrion, and Carmen Carrion; and many nieces and nephews.
