BOLLER, Paul Douglas, Sr., passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009. He was born in Carroll County, IN and moved to FL in 1947. He graduated from South Dade High School in 1954. After 30 years of service, he retired in 1989 from Coral Gables Fire Department. He was a director of American Bowling Congress for 20 years, girls and women’s softball coach and Softball League Commissioner at Perrine Khoury League and junior bowling coach for 35 years. Paul bowled in National Tournaments, mixed league and men’s league for 30 years. Most recently a league bowler and coach at Royal Lanes in Lutz. He managed Boller Groves in Homestead from 1990 to 1999. Paul was a skilled handyman in many fields as he would say, “Jack of all trades, master of many”. He is survived by life companion, Maria A. Smith; son, Paul Douglas, Jr., three daughters, Peggy A. Burns and her husband, Fred, Patricia D. Sorensen and Pamela D. Postlethwaite and her husband, Ron; step children, William Smith and his wife, Marilyn and Missy Mallick and her husband, Rick; grandchildren, Kathryn, Brittany and Kimberly Burns and Kalyn and Bryce Sorensen and step grand children, Jenna and Cara Smith; Haylee Hayner and Reese, Caity and Michael Mallick. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship Fund, 621 Six Flags Drive, Arlington, TX 76011 to continue his love of coaching youth bowlers. A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2nd at Loyless Funeral Home.
