Richard Bruce Lee
January 12, 1951 — April 13, 2023
A man deeply rooted in his Catholic faith, Richard was brought back to the Lord in Heaven on April 13, surrounded by his wife and children.
Richard (Dick) Bruce Lee was born on January 12, 1951, and grew up in Miami Springs, FL. After high school, Dick moved to Trinidad, CO for college to become a biomedical engineer. Through work he met the love of his life, Carol, and they settled in Thornton, CO. In 2005 the Florida sea breeze was calling home, so Dick and Carol moved to Tampa, FL where they remained until his passing.
Part cowboy at heart, Dick competed in rodeos in bareback horse riding. His love of the Colorado wilderness lasted throughout his life, and he shared his love by going camping with his son Cory. An avid hobby man, Dick actively pursued his interests after his retirement in 2013. Whenever he wasn’t building his own hot rod, you could find Dick on a boat going deep sea fishing or planning his next trip on the open water.
Steadfast in his love for his family, Richard would always help his family, friends, and loved ones at the drop of a hat. Richard is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carol Windholz-Lee; his children Kimberly Lee-Griffeth, Karen Cook (Brad), and Cory Lee; his mother Nancy Lee Hobson; his siblings Laurel Martinez (Bill), Susan Shaw (David), and Mark Hobson (Helen); his grandchildren Alexander Griffeth, Nathaniel Griffeth, Abygail Cook, Sarah Cook, and Alyssa Cook; as well as countless nieces, nephews, friends, and other loved ones.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, May 5th at 10:30 a.m in Tampa, FL.
