Robert E. Edwards, Jr. also lovingly known as “Bob” passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 77. Bon was born on June 10, 1948, in Alton, Ill, to Robert and Marilyn Edwards.Robert met the love of his life and beloved wife, Linda Ann of 40 years. During their time in the Philippines, they adopted their only child Maria. Years later he became a grandfather to 3 grandchildren. Robert loved and was immensely proud of his grandkids. He loved camping and his time in the military. Bob was known for his giving nature. He had a servant’s heart. If someone was in need he was there to help. He loved his family and his country. Robert’s proudest career achievements were his 20 plus years serving his country. He retired as a TSGT from the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Vietnam War and Desert Shield. Robert retired from the military as a respiratory therapist while stationed at MacDill AFB. He continued his profession in civilian life at Tampa General Hospital. Later in life, he and his wife, Linda, moved to Newberry, Fl. There Bob volunteered and was a member with the local American Legion. He retired as a CPR instructor for the University of Florida. Preceded in joining the Lord: Mother & Father, and his wife Linda Ann Edwards. Survived by: daughter, Maria LaFemina, son-in-law, John LaFemina, Jr.; grandchildren, Andrew-Joseph, Gianna, and Sophia; Brothers, Gary Edwards with his wife, Pamela Edwards of Ill and John Edwards with his wife Anna Edwards of CA; Brothers-in-law, Richard D’Alberto with his wife Deborah D’Alberto of GA and Anthony D’Alberto with his wife Mary D’Alberto of Fl. He is also survived by several loving nephews, nieces, and cousins. Flowers or donations are greatly appreciated. Donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project in Robert’s name, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or at woundedwarriorproject.org. Funeral services are under the direction of Loyless Funeral Home, Land O’Lakes, FL. September 25, 2025, from 10am to 12pm. Robert's final resting place will be at Florida National Cemetery, in Bushnell, FL. with Military Honors at 1:30pm.
