Devyn Lynn Jauch
April 11, 1997 — March 27, 2025
Devyn Lynn Jauch passed away unexpectedly in her home in Goleta, CA, Thursday morning March 27, 2025, two weeks short of her 28th birthday. After being born and raised in the Bay Area, she chose UC Santa Barbara for college and called Santa Barbara & Goleta her home. She graduated from UCSB and got her Masters in Psychology at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Even while living in SLO she came back to Santa Barbara where her boyfriend, former classmates and friends lived.
Gymnastics was her first love and passion. She began competing as soon as she could and thrived, taking home countless medals and trophies and podium places Devyn’s health and nutrition issues after starting high school, caused her to have to delay and ultimately leave the sport she grew up loving. That ultimately led her to cheerleading and when she got connected at UCSB, she immediately hooked up with their cheerleading squad. Lifelong friends and some of the best most fulfilling relationships of her young life. She deeply cherished the friendships she made at both UCSB and CalPoly.
Her freshman year at UCSB she began working with children and turned her degrees and professional career toward being a child therapist. Working at various clinics and social services roles throughout her schooling eventually culminated in her becoming a Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) specializing in working with young children including those on the spectrum. She loved the work and literally established her first professional Practice job as licensed therapist, days before she died. Her father (Steve) and stepmother (Janis) live in Truckee, CA and were both very frequent visitors to Santa Barbara. She was very close to her aunt (Shannon) and uncle (Kevin) and six cousins all of whom lived in the greater Chicagoland area. Her mother (Barbara) and other extended family also live in the midwest as well as Arizona
