Jacqueline Carey

November 28, 1944 — May 24, 2026

Jacqueline Carey, of Voorhees, NJ passed away at home on May 24, 2026. She was 81 years old.

Born and raised in Middlesex County, Virginia, Jackie graduated from St. Clare Walker High School in 1963. During her school years, she was well known and deeply loved by her classmates and community. She had a strong sense of style, loved dancing, and was recognized as an excellent typist. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Philadelphia to begin her business career. On May 6, 1967, Jacqueline Kidd married Frederick Carey at Saint Philomena in Lansdowne, PA. On December 28, 2018, she retired as a legal secretary with White & Williams, LLP in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Jackie was kind, gentle, and sweet, never raising her voice and always making others feel cared for and welcome. She loved cooking, especially preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for her family. Some of the most treasured memories were gathering around the piano while Jackie played and everyone sang Christmas carols together.

Jackie simply adored her daughter, Megan, and was always involved in her activities — from tap and ballet lessons to swim meets, chorus, and orchestra performances. No matter the occasion, she was always there, offering encouragement, support, and love.

Family time meant everything to Jackie. Saturdays were often spent together ordering takeout and watching movies as a family, creating simple moments that became cherished lifelong memories.

Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Katherine Kidd, brother, Edward Kidd Jr., sister, Tyree Kidd, and her husband, Frederick M. Carey, she is survived by her devoted daughter Megan Olexson and her husband Brandon; cherished granddaughter, Riley; dear sisters, Joan Comerford, Cheryl James (little Cheryl), Karen Kidd and Judy Kidd; and treasured Aunts, Nan Barnwell, Carrie Whiting and Nancy Denny. Jackie is also survived by her extended family and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 9:30 am in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at the funeral home at 10:45 am.
