Marguerite Wiseley

Marguerite Cecelia Wiseley, age 91, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.

Marguerite was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Wiseley, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. Together they built a family that became her greatest pride and joy. She was a loving and dedicated mother to Francis Wiseley, Michael Wiseley, William Wiseley, Colleen Maiden, and LoriAnn Winner, and a cherished mother-in-law to Margaret Wiseley, Krista Wiseley, Mark Honabach, David Maiden, and Gregory Winner.

She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Francis Wiseley (Gianna Wiseley), Alyse Wilber (Dana Wilber), Patricia Garrity (Joseph Garrity), Matthew Wiseley (Annemarie Wiseley), Ryan Maiden (Ellen Anderson), Michael Wiseley (Kailee Wiseley), Elizabeth Szwajkowski (John Szwajkowski), Christian Maiden (Sydney Maiden), Audrey Wiseley, Quinn Wiseley, Gregory Winner, and Declan Winner, and great-grandmother to Margot, Maeve, Cooper, Claire, Shannon, Baby Garrity (May2026), Theodore, and Sloane.

Marguerite is reunited in eternal peace with her husband Frank; her parents, Mary Anne and William; her sisters, Anna and Mary; and many beloved family members and dear friends who surely welcomed her with open arms.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Marguerite was a proud graduate of Hallahan High School. She carried her South Philadelphia roots with her always, a deep sense of family, loyalty, and connection that defined her life. She later settled in Southwest Philadelphia, where she and Frank raised their five children in a home filled with energy, love, and constant activity.

Marguerite had a gift for bringing people together. Whether at Saint Barnabas Parish, neighborhood gatherings, school events, or family celebrations, she was at the center of it all, welcoming, organizing, and making everyone feel like they belonged. She often reminded us of her Hallahan roots, and through her children, West Catholic High School became an extension of her world. There, she enthusiastically supported every game, event, and milestone, fully embracing the community as her own, and she continued to enjoy events like West Catholic’s “Burrs on the Beach,” keeping those friendships and traditions alive.

Her greatest joy was her family. She wanted to be wherever they were, on the sidelines, at every celebration big or small, and out on the dance floor, where she especially loved doing the Twist with Frank and anyone willing to join! She loved deeply and fiercely, and she made sure everyone around her felt it. She had a vibrant spirit, a love of dancing, and a natural ability to connect with others that made every room brighter.

Marguerite was also a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, never missing a chance to cheer, very loudly and wholeheartedly for her teams.

While raising her family, she worked with dear friends at Marchiani’s Catering, and later at Graduate Hospital, where her warmth and work ethic continued to shine. In her later years, she was blessed to travel extensively with Frank, family and her friends, experiencing places many only dream of, from Cuba in their early years together to Ireland, Germany, and beyond, while also cherishing time in the Wildwoods, at the casinos, on cruises, and visiting loved ones near and far. Later in life, she was also gifted a wonderful circle of new friends at Parke Place, who brought her great joy and companionship.

A woman of deep faith, Marguerite was devoted to God and lived her life with gratitude, humility, and grace. Her faith guided her, and her love for family reflected it every day.

To know Marguerite was to feel welcomed, valued, and loved. She had a rare ability to make everyone feel special, whether you had known her for a lifetime or had just met her. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain her lasting legacy.  We will carry her spirit with us always.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Marguerite’s life with a viewing on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 6:30–9:00 PM, and Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 8:30–9:30 AM at McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell (Washington Township), NJ 08080. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at The Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Washington Township, NJ 08080. Interment will take place at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 240 South Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marguerite’s memory to West Catholic Preparatory High School. Please note “In Memory of Frank & Marguerite Wiseley” in the memo.
