Daniel W. Atkinson

Daniel W. Atkinson, 78, of Spring City, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 23, 2026, at the Southeastern Veterans Center. Born on November 6, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dan was the son of the late Dorothy J. Beach and William T. Atkinson.

Dan was a graduate of Deptford High School and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Armed Forces. During his service in Vietnam, he was awarded the Purple Heart in recognition of his bravery and sacrifice.

Following his military service, Dan worked as a roofer and construction worker and later as a quality control inspector for Red Lobster.

Dan spent his final years at the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, Pennsylvania, where he received compassionate care.

He is survived by his sister Carol Farace (Ed) and his brothers, William Atkinson (Donna), Robert Atkinson (Jane), David Atkinson (Jessie), and Mark Atkinson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jon Atkinson (Denise). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grandnieces.

Dan will be remembered for his service to his country, his perseverance, and his enduring connection to his family. He also enjoyed being in the outdoors

Memorial Services will be at the Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown, NJ at a later date.
