Evelyn Carol O'Toole

Evelyn Carol O'Toole (nee Mills), affectionately known as Carol, passed away on May 30, 2026, at the age of 78.
She is survived by her daughters, Rita Andersen (Mike) and Theresa Telfer (Nigel); her grandson, Sean Nathaniel O'Toole and his mother, Xochy Morrell; her grandchildren, Christopher Andersen, Thomas Andersen, and Madeline Andersen; her sister, Kathryn Beach; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin O'Toole; her son, Sean O'Toole; her parents, Harry Mills and Evelyn Mills; her brothers, Eugene Mills, Michael Mills, and Robert Mills; and her sisters, Barbara Houston and Joyce McDermott.
Born on October 11, 1947, in Bethesda, MD, Carol was the daughter of the late Harry Rockford and Evelyn Mills. She graduated from Robert E. Peary High School in 1966 and went on to build a dedicated and distinguished career with the US Department of Health and Human Services, retiring after many years of service to the Federal Government.
Carol spent much of her life in Maryland and the Pittsburgh area before spending her final years in West Deptford, New Jersey. She loved to travel and found joy in both new adventures and the simple comforts of home. She had a special love for flowers, gardening, and animals, especially dogs.
Carol was known for her wonderful cooking, quick wit, and dry sense of humor. She had a remarkable gift for making people laugh and bringing comfort and happiness to those around her. Her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Above all else, Carol cherished her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be treasured forever. Carol's love, laughter, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Though her presence is gone, the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at McGuinness Funeral Homes-(Woodbury Location) 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, New Jersey. A Funeral Service will begin at 6:00PM. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Carol's life. Interment will be private.
