Francisco Melendez Sr.

Francisco Melendez, Sr., age 79, of Woodbury, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

Francisco was born in Cataño, Puerto Rico and has lived in Woodbury for many years.  He worked as a truck driver in Puerto Rico and also for Erdner Bro's in Swedesboro, NJ.

He loved watching boxing matches and movies on his time off with his three loving sons, spending an afternoon at the race track betting on horses or strolling through the flea market or the mall to browse around.   Francisco liked to keep busy and loved making kites to fly at the park with his family.  He was a lover of classic Puerto Rican music and could never turn down his favorite dish, Arroz con Pernil!  Spending time with his family was the most important thing, in person or hours on the phone.

Francisco was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Carmen Melendez and is survived by his sons, Francisco Melendez Jr., Daniel Melendez and  Antonio Melendez. Loving grandfather of Michael Melendez, Natasha Melendez, Christian Melendez and Brandon Melendez and great grandfather of Mara Moon Melendez and Anaiah Melendez.

Services will be private for Francisco's family.
