Richard (Dick) Frederick Love, of Woodbury Heights, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 2, 2023, at the age of 85.
Legacy
He was born July 11, 1937 in Bryn Mawr, PA. Dick attended Drexel University and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Dupont in the water purification research area developing commercial reverse osmosis membranes.
Dick served his country in the US Navy on the USS Kidd during the Cuban Missile Crisis. His destroyer was tasked to protect the east coast by detecting and intercepting Soviet submarines.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He coached Little League football and being a former Eagle scout himself, was a cub scout leader for his children. Dick and Joy enjoyed travelling the World together on cruises.
Family
Dick is survived by his beloved wife Joy, loving son Chris and his wife Tammy, grandchildren; Kara, Andrew, Jason, Nicole, Mathew and Tyler, and great grandchildren Sofie and Aiden. He is preceded in death by two of his sons, Richard P. Love and David Andrew Love.
Farewell Tribute
Graveside ceremony will take place on Friday July 21st at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Pray Quilt Ministry First Presbyterian Church, 335 Elm Avenue, Woodbury Heights, NJ.
