William G. Hennessy

October 5, 1959 — June 1, 2026

William G. “Bill” Hennessy, of West Deptford, NJ, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 1, 2026. He was 66 years old.

Bill grew up in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, where his childhood friends affectionately nicknamed him "Rock Man" for his carefully styled hair. He attended St. Anne's School class of 1973 and graduated from North Catholic High School with the Class of 1977. After many years with Pieri Creations, Bill settled in West Deptford, where he built a successful landscaping business (Artscapes) and became a familiar and respected member of the community.

Bill was known for his kind and generous heart. He found joy in life's simple blessings and approached each day with gratitude. He formed lifelong friendships, and those who knew him could always count on him for thoughtful advice, a helping hand, a card game, or good company.

Bill cherished his family. He was the beloved husband of Sharon Verdinelli; devoted father to Matthew, Kathleen (Jim Blanchet), and William (Christina); proud “Pop” to his grandsons William, Theo & James. He is also survived by his siblings Robert (Jacquelyn), Edward (Janice), Sister Ruth Hennessy RSM, and Karen (Francis Wieckowski). He was a loving uncle to eight nieces & nephews and eleven great-nieces & great-nephews, and a devoted godfather to Jenna, Salvatore and Ellie.

Family and friends are invited to Bill’s visitation on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 9 AM to 11 AM at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 3rd & Beech Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment will follow at New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
