William J. Seeger
August 30, 1937 — May 19, 2026
William J. Seeger, of Turnersville, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was 88 years old. Born in Philadelphia, son of the late George and Anna (Schramm) Seeger.
Bill was the beloved husband of Bernadette (nee Bogan) Seeger, sharing over 50 years of marriage filled with love and laughter. He was the father of five: Maureen (Gillespie) Quinn, Cornelius Gillespie, Kevin Gillespie (Debi), Michael Seeger (Krissy) and Bill Seeger (Deb); grandfather to nine: Kathryn (Robert), Megan (Michael), Erin (Kyle), Kevin, Kylie, Kirsten, Michael, Lyla and Owen. Bill was also a great-grandfather to three, with one more on the way.
He is also survived by his loving brother, Earl Seeger (Earl Seeger Jr., Linda Johnson, Ken Seeger, and Kevin Seeger), and many nieces and nephews. Godfather to Keith, Steven and Lisa Bradt.
He served with distinction in the United States Army from 1959-1961.
Bill, known to many as Pop Pop, Cappy, and Dad, was a kind and gentle man who could always make his wife (his “Sunshine”), smile. He was deeply loved by his large family and will be missed beyond words. A devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, he made his unique version of chipped beef on Sunday mornings before the games, a cherished family tradition.
He enjoyed spending summer vacations in North Wildwood with his family. In his heyday, Bill was a regular dancer on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand in Philadelphia.
Bill will be interred at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Williamstown, NJ. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
