Dino Garza Mercado

Dionicio Garza Mercado, 81 of Scottsdale, Arizona passed on June 19th, 2019. Born to the late Dionicio and Eva Mercado Sr. in Brownsville, Texas on January 13th, 1938. Dionicio was retired but worked many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Mechanic. Prior to this he worked for over 20 years as a Field Irrigator for Cheatham Farms in Laveen, Arizona. He enjoyed watching his sports live on television. Dino was a true Arizona sports fan, but also loved his "Novelas" as well. He had been married for 39 years to the late Alberta J Mercado. He is survived by 3 sisters-Lupita Lopez, Maria Mercado and Lucy Garza. 2 sons Jerry Smith, Miguel Mercado, 3 daughters- Juanita Mercado-Save, Larissa Mercado-Lee and Sunseray Mercado-Monroe, and 1 step-daughter Barrie A Thomas. 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 5 sons, Alfonso Mercado, Jason Mercado, Dion Pernell Mercado, Eraclio Dionicio Mercado, baby boy Mercado and 1 step-daughter Leigh Ann Thomas. Brother Sandalio Mercado and sister Christina Mercado. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019 from 5 pm-6 pm for immediate family and 6 pm-10 pm for the public, at the Salt River Memorial Hall (SRPMIC) located at 9848 E. Earll Drive, Scottsdale, Arizona 85256 Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019 at 5 am at Pee-Posh Cemetery, 79th Avenue and Dobbins Road, Laveen, Arizona.
