Georgia Cato Griffin

Georgia Cato Griffin was born February 16, 1921 in Austin, Texas to George and Callie Cato. She was the eldest of seven children. At an early age, Georgia accepted the lord as her savior. She was also a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church located in Lubbock, Texas, and remained faithful until she came to the state of California. Sometime later, she became a member of New Hope Baptist Chirch in Seaside, California, under the leadership of Reverend Benjamin Franklin. She was a faithful member and remained faithful, until her illness no longer allowed her to attend church. Georgia married Anthony Parker at an early age, and from the union her only son was born, George Cal Parker. After divorcing Mr. Parker, Georgia met Daniel Griffin, and remained married until his death. Georgia loved to cook, and was a great cook. She was famous for her mouth watering cakes. She also loved her family, and if you ever had a conversation with her, she would take you down memory lane telling stories about her family, and her relationship with God and her church. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents George and Callie Cato, her husband Daniel L. Griffin, three sisters, Lily, Betty, and Jenny, two brothers Charlie and William. To celebrate her memory, she leaves one son George C. Parker, and his wife Bobbie Parker of Marina, CA, a sister Doris Cotton of Dallas, TX. Three Grandchildren George Parker Jr., TaKisha Gerena and Dontay Henderson, Four Great Grandchildren Samuel, George III, Markel, and Jaleen. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
