Denise Ann Elder

August 8, 1963 — May 30, 2026

Denise Elder, a remarkably loving, hard-working, and family-forward woman, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, leaving a beautiful legacy of devotion and faith.

She was born August 8, 1963, in Eugene, Oregon, to Wayne and Sharon Pounds. Though she grew up in California, her heart eventually brought her back home to Oregon, where she settled and built her life. Denise was a fiercely dedicated worker who gave everything she had to support and lift up her family.

To Denise, family was her true North. She was the proud and loving mother of two daughters, Michelle and Jennifer, and her world grew infinitely brighter when she became a grandmother to her cherished grandson, Levi. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Elder, as well as her mother, Sharon, and her oldest sister, Diana. She is survived by her father, Wayne; her sisters, Donna and Debra; her daughters; her grandson; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and her sister-in-law, Kathy, her husband Frank, and her children and grandchildren with whom she was incredibly close.

Those who knew Denise will remember her vibrant inner life and her appreciation for the simple beauties of the world. Guided by a deep and enduring faith, she loved history and possessed a creative, gentle spirit. She found peace at the beach, loved lighthouses, enjoyed coloring, and took great joy in her collection of miniature buildings. Her warmth, strength, and resilient spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
